Things I'm Looking Forward to Now that the Sun's Out
With a long, sunny weekend ahead of us (long thanks to Children's Day in South Korea), I've been writing up lists of things to do to counter Andrew's point about sunlight. I may be more inspired for summer than I was for spring! Here are some of the things I'm looking forward to now that the sun's out.
meals and drinks al fresco
I thought I'd always prefer dining indoors, but after enjoying such a lovely meal with family under the Maroni trees, I'm looking forward to more meals, or at least drinks, out in the sun. Al fresco seating is not a common thing in Seoul, so it's even more special when an opportunity arises.
warm weather wear
I'm a fall fashion girl through and through, but I've been gasping at all the pretty pastels and sweet silhouettes in shops at the moment. Spring and summer call for sundresses in breathable fabrics—this one would be perfect for our trip to Lisbon!
This summer vacation is exciting for several reasons. First, I've decided to leave my current school at the end of this year (submitted my letter of intent this week). Although I don't yet have another position lined up, and, as one of my best friends pointed out, that is so unlike me, I feel free in a way I never have, as if I could do anything! I'm looking forward to pursuing new and better opportunities and moving to Gangbuk (north of the Han River), where we prefer. Second, my dad is coming to visit for two weeks in July and we'll spend some of that time south of Seoul, exploring Busan, Gyeongju, and Gwangju. After that, we're meeting one of my best friends in Lisbon, the number one place on my travel list, and then ending our summer with a week in the States for a wedding in San Francisco and some time at each of our family's homes. (And while I'm sorry to them, the most exciting part of that is getting to see our baby girl, Luna.)
What are you looking forward to these days?
